I am called to write a phenomenon that hit the shore of Peninsular Malaysia of this man named Ustaz Azhar Idrus. A freelance religious speaker but he somehow capable in attracting youngsters to indulge and learn to know their religion in depth in a somehow cozy and leisurely manner. I had been following this man through various means of medias especially the internet and his talks are mostly relevant with the current situation and easy to digest and comprehensive. I attended his talk last Sunday which at the same time too collided with the Anugerah Juara Lagu 26 (26th Singing Champion Award) but I was surprised to see the crowds that attended his talk at Masjid Negeri Shah Alam, subhanallah, 30,000 audiences were at the masjid listening to his talks.

What is so special about this man named Azhar Idrus? I have been researching him on various means particularly via YouTubes and Facebook, Ustaz Azhar Idrus is not a mediocre person but a man with talents. His speaks very thick East Coast language as he was born and raised in Kuala Terengganu this is one of the factor that attract peoples to see him in person and listen to his talk over religions in a unique East Coast slang. But still people got the message as he is a straight forward person and easy to digest. He is capable in attracting thousands of people to come over and listen to him, a very good example was during the New Year's eve, where he managed to get nearly a hundred thousands crowds and somehow he revolved the way youngsters celebrate the Gregorian New Year in a somehow Islamic way. Alhamdulillah, I love how he touched all youngsters' hearts with his brotherly but relaxed and casual ways in dakwah.

The way he talks maybe sharp and rough among some people whom are not used to have friends hovering from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. But as for me, taking my advantage for staying in Terengganu for 4 1/2 years I digested and understood his points in his talks. But when people out there perceived that religious gurus don't do what they do, this man is a no ordinary religious guru. He could play musics as he graduated in musical education before devoting himself solely to religion in the 90's. He proved that he is a cool man when he strummed guitar with Zizan Maharaja Lawak during the New Year's Eve in Shah Alam. This is the point where most youngsters follow him and want to know him better. He showed a very good example among youngsters.

Indeed he is a phenomenon among all youngsters here nowadays. And now I find that there is no need for me to look high at those singers, artists whereby I should have looked high at Ustaz Azhar Idrus for his efforts and initiative in attracting young generations to get close and know their religions better in a casual and comprehensive explanation. Alhamdulillah, Allah granted my niat to watch and listen to his talk recently and I really looking forward to attend and follow his talks in the future. Thank you Ustaz Azhar Idrus for showing us the right way to get back to Him. May Allah bless you with His pahala and blessings for all knowledge shared with us. Amin....
